We’re hiring: Carpenter & Project Manager


The Walcot Group is looking for a Carpenter & Project Manager. This is a broad role and, depending on experience, will oversee smaller fit out projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. The role requires solid project management and a background in carpentry is crucial. This role will involve coordinating refurbishments, renovations, or repairs where carpentry is a significant component.



What we’re after;

  • Project oversight: Manage and coordinate carpentry projects from planning to completion, ensuring they stay on schedule and within budget.
  • Subcontractor and team management: Oversee the performance of subcontractors and motivate the project team, ensuring everyone is engaged and motivated.
  • Material and logistics: Coordinate material procurement, deliveries, and storage to support project progress.
  • Quality and compliance: Ensure high-quality finishes are achieved and that projects meet all health and safety standards and other compliance requirements.
  • Financial management: Apply financial controls, track costs, manage budgets.
  • Stakeholder communication: Provide regular updates to all stakeholders on project progress.


Required skills and experience;

  • Project management experience: Typically requires 5+ years of experience in project management
  • Technical knowledge: Strong technical competence and a solid understanding of carpentry and related trades are essential.
  • Communication: The ability to work with a team, manage relationships, and communicate effectively with various stakeholders is crucial.
  • Financial acumen: Proficiency in managing project budgets.
  • Software proficiency: Experience with GSuite ideal.e guests feel welcome and at home.
