Objectives of the Role

As Duty Manager, you’ll play an important role in the day-to-day running of Solina Cardiff. You’ll lead shifts, support the management team and make sure our guests receive a brilliant experience every time they visit.

You’ll be confident taking responsibility for the restaurant, leading by example and creating a positive environment where the team can perform at their best.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead smooth, well-organised shifts and take responsibility for the restaurant when senior management is not present.
  • Deliver engaging shift briefings and ensure everyone understands their role and priorities.
  • Maintain a strong front-of-house presence, supporting the team during busy services.
  • Make sure every guest receives friendly, efficient and attentive service.
  • Respond confidently and professionally to guest feedback.
  • Complete opening, closing, cash-handling and compliance procedures accurately.
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness, food safety, health and safety, and personal presentation.
  • Understand and champion Solina’s food, drinks, brand and service standards.
  • Support stock control, ordering, waste management and other operational responsibilities.

  • Previous experience leading shifts in a restaurant or hospitality environment.
  • A positive, calm and hands-on leadership style.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Confidence making decisions and responding to challenges.
  • A genuine passion for hospitality, great food and looking after people.
  • Flexibility to work a mixture of evenings, weekends and busy trading periods.
